Sobriety

And one day it was all over
Thought I was lucky to find it
Like a four leaf clover

I put nothing above it

Like cold beverages on coasters

Ironic I speak of drinks

Because since then

I’m never sober

The Break Up: Prequel (Excerpt)

“Hey, love.”  “Good morning” she replied to me with a smile that could light up the darkest of days. Coincidentally today actually was dark. It was storming, had been since last night when we…I always saw her as a bolt of lightening rather than a bright sunshine. With just a glance she could strike down anything in her vicinity while her beauty was still illuminating to any viewer unharmed. If she was lightening then I was the storm itself. Not always pleasurable to everyone but to the select few who enjoyed the rain and the roaring of the thunder, I was appreciated. Just like a bolt of light in the raging weather, she’d let me know that no matter what she would always be right there with me.

Blind Mass

blind

I looked within myself and I haven’t been common sense

They try to tell me Jesus was white like I don’t have common sense

Built a fence of knowledge to block out the ignorance

So unless they aim for my brain the shots won’t penetrate my defense

But why do pastors treat the churches like addicts, huh?

Its like they’re the dealers and the congregation’s the customers

If the masses come together those on top would be under us

Their words force your mind to travel so get off their bus

Create your own routes and go wherever you wish to be

They say it’s the blind leading the blind but I disagree

I think the people haven’t realized they have to open their eyes to see

The Break Up

Break ups are strange. Strange because the people who break up aren’t the same people who started a relationship. See, the goal is to continuously grow together. Unfortunately though, sometimes you only grow apart. In the end you’re stuck looking in the mirror feeling like not only is the person you’ve broken up with unfamiliar, but you don’t even know yourself anymore.
